Dremel Trio Projects
If you don't have a Dremel Trio yet, you can pick one up for probably less than the cost of any one of the projects described here. And your savings will continue into the future since you won't be calling that handyman anymore. Instead, you'll be completing more of the projects around your home yourself, not to mention the great hobby projects you'll be able to tackle.
Around The House DIY Projects
You've read that you can cut, sand, and rout using only the Dremel Trio right. But did you realize that it cuts, sands and routs almost all of the materials around your house? The list includes hard woods, soft woods and plywood (floors, cabinets, doors, furniture, etc.), metals (ductwork, gutters, etc), plastics, plaster walls and ceilings, drywall, vinyls (siding, gutters and downspouts and flooring) backer/cement board (tile underlayment, shower walls and ceilings), wall tile (in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc), acoustic tile and laminates (flooring and countertops). And I'm sure this list is not complete.
Think for a minute about all of the projects you can do around the house using your Dremel Trio. Here's a short list to start you thinking:
- Make that wooden Welcome sign you've been promising your wife
- Repair and restore those damaged chairs
- Install electrical outlets or recessed lighting
- Repair the doors around the house or install new ones
- Install laminate flooring and easily cut it to exactly the right sizes
- Make a kitchen backsplash out of metal or regular wall tile
- Prepare vinyl siding for installation including cutting the holes for electrical outlets
- Sand the edges when you refinish that antique furniture
- Replace or repair your aluminum or vinyl gutters and downspouts
- Sand the cabinet edges quickly and professionally when you refinish your kitchen cabinets
- Make that birdhouse you've been promising the kids
- Refinish the window trim both inside and outside the house
- Update the door hardware and the lock sets
- Make some yard ornaments that you can put out for the holidays
If you put your mind to it, I'm sure you can come up with many more around-the-house projects. If you're like me, you don't have to think long because you already have a never-ending honey do list. The Dremel Trio is just the tool you've been looking for to help you whittle down that list. And, by the way, you'll have fun doing it and you'll end up with a great feeling of accomplishment.

The First Six Months with My Dremel Trio
I can hardly believe what I accomplished in the first six months after I bought my Trio. First, I made two birdhouses. I know what you're thinking, kid's projects right? Not these. They turned out better than anything I ever made when I was a kid. They look professionally made, like the ones you'd have to pay big bucks for in a store. Then I made a wooden paper towel holder for the kitchen. Small thing I know, but it looks like we got it at one of the fancy homestores. It fills a need that we had and gave me more practice with the Trio.
After that I made a wooden welcome sign for the house, has recessed letters and house numbers. Designed and laid it out myself and I have to tell you it turned out really well. Gives the front of the house a nice look. I wanted to give the Trio a try on something other than wood and so I tackled the rain gutters over our back patio. They have been overflowing for years. I decided to redo them and add a couple of additional downspouts to better handle the water. I used pre-painted aluminum gutters and downspouts. Cutting these gutters and downspouts and adjusting them to fit the way I wanted was a snap with the Trio, and it did a very neat job. Saved me time and was hassle-free.
The in-floor heating vents in our house were old and had needed replacing for years but I was reluctant to do it myself. All the new replacement vents I could find were more than an inch bigger than the ones in the house.
I could see major hassles trying to fit the new vents. But now that I was an experienced Trio owner, I decided that it might not be so bad after all. Not bad? It was extremely easy. I enlarged all those holes in the floor in no time using only the Trio. A professional couldn't have done a better job fitting and installing the new vents.Re-grouting the tile on the walls behind the kitchen counters was going to be my biggest project yet. I figured the hardest part of the job was going to be removing the old grout. That turned out to be simple with the Trio. I used the small, straight router bit and set the depth the right amount, just once, to get out all the old grout. Being able to adjust the handle on the Trio really helped too. I had to get into some tight spots under and around the cabinets. And because of the Trio's solid foot, I was able to guide the tool straight down the grout lines without scratching or marking any of the tiles. Oh, and I was also able to attach my shop vac to the dust port on the Trio to keep the dust down in the kitchen.
Pretty impressive list for the first six months don't you think? But there's more to do for me and my Trio. I'm thinking that a wooden wine rack would be great in the kitchen.

Wooden Yard/Lawn Ornaments

Who among us hasn’t driven by a house and wondered where they found those neat lawn ornaments. Well if you haven’t seen ornaments like them for sale in the local lawn and garden stores, chances are the person that lives there either has an extensive wood shop or, he or she is the owner of a Dremel Trio.
Making wooden lawn ornaments is a piece of cake using the Dremel Trio. It’s almost like the Trio was designed specifically for making these ornaments.
You can layout and draw your own unique ornament designs, or you can find an abundance of designs and patterns of all kinds online. Just do a Google search for lawn ornament patterns, free lawn ornament patterns, yard art patterns, holiday yard art patterns, or search for almost any subject plus the words yard art to get an idea of the patterns that are available.
Make Wooden Signs with a Dremel Trio
Have you always wanted one of those neat looking wooden house signs with your house number recessed into the wood, or a Welcome sign on your front door? Well, if you have a Dremel Trio you can easily make one yourself. I did.

To make a sign like this you don't need to have a lot of tools like saws, sanders or routers, the Dremel Trio replaces all of them. You can cut your sign to the size you want, you can decorate it by cutting out scalloped corners, you can rout the edges to add a more professional look, and then you can rout your Welcome message and decoration or your house numbers into the sign. The Dremel Trio makes it easy to do all of these jobs with just the simple changing of a bit. Oh, and did I mention that you can also sand all of the edges to professional standards (that’s all the edges around the sign and also the inside edges of the letters or house numbers themselves).
You might have to use some sandpaper to finish the face of your sign unless you have a Dremel Multi-max which, of course, will accomplish that little task in no time. Oh, and one more thing. The Dremel Trio can’t help you with the staining or painting either.
After you have completed your house sign with the Trio, had a lot of fun doing it, and are impressed with it’s quality, you might want to do more. But, alas, you only have one house. What other signs could you make?
Have you ever strolled around an Arts and Crafts show and seen a booth displaying a large variety of wooden signs for sale. Some useful, some comical but all attractive and nicely done. Now there’s an idea. Why not a hobby of making signs with the Dremel Trio? It will be fun and perhaps you will generate some income at the same time.
And even if I want to physically check out a product before I buy it, I still want to see what the prices are on Amazon. Then when I check the product out locally, I’m armed with that “price to beat” knowledge and I won’t make a purchase that I’ll be sorry for later.
So for the best Dremel Trio price, I recommend that you skip the other internet searches and click on one of the links that I provide on this website. Any of these links will take you to the Amazon.com page where you can compare the current Dremel Trio prices offered by online stores.
